Blush Mark® is a women’s clothing brand focused on effortless style, quality fabrics, and ethical production. We create versatile pieces designed to be mixed, matched, and worn for years to come.
Our story begins in 2015 when founder Sarah Taylor was traveling through Southeast Asia. During a visit to a local market, Sarah was drawn to the vibrant hand-dyed textiles crafted by village artisans. She was inspired by their mastery of traditional techniques passed down through generations.
Upon returning home, Sarah envisioned a company that would connect these skilled craftspeople with a global audience of conscious consumers. She partnered with several collectives and workshops to produce small batched orders of naturally-dyed fabrics using techniques like batik and ikat.
With these textiles in hand, Sarah got to work designing Blush Mark’s first collection featuring minimalist silhouettes made for everyday wear. The focus was on premium natural fibers like linen, silk, and cotton that would drape beautifully and hold their shape.
In 2016, we officially launched online with a direct-to-consumer e-commerce model. This allowed us to oversee the entire design and production process while keeping costs accessible. Sustainability has been a core value from day one. We’re proud to work closely with our makers to ensure safe working conditions and fair wages.
Our Fabrics & Production
Blush Mark sources the finest natural fibers and uses kinder production methods that reduce our impact. We believe high-quality clothing should also be ethical clothing.
The majority of our fabrics are plant-based including organic cotton, linen, and TencelTM lyocell. Tencel is a sustainable tree fiber known for its silky softness. We also incorporate delicate silks and climate-beneficial hemp which requires minimal water to grow.
For finishes, we use natural plant-based dyes from sources like turmeric, indigo, and madder root. Traditional techniques like block printing and hand looming add unique textural details.
When man-made fibers are used, we ensure they are Oeko-Tex® certified free from harmful chemicals. Trims are metal-free, undyed, or made of recycled materials.
To reduce energy and water consumption, we prioritize natural fiber blends over synthetic blends in our fabric development. Garments are produced in small batches to prevent fabric waste.
We manufacture in a network of family-owned workshops in India, Southeast Asia, and Europe. Many have heritage skills passed down through generations. By working closely together, we are able to ensure safe, ethical practices. The majority of our products are made by female artisans, and we are proud to support their economic empowerment.

Our essentials are crafted from luxe natural fibers that feel amazing and get even softer with time. Subtle details like side slits, strappy backs, or deconstructed seams update simple silhouettes.
We believe your closet should be filled with pieces you reach for again and again. Our designs are inspired by a less-is-more aesthetic that values craftsmanship over trends. With a neutral color palette of mineral hues, earth tones, and shades of white, everything mixes and matches seamlessly.
Conscious Activewear
In 2019, we launched Blush Mark Active – a conscious collection designed for sweat sessions and beyond.
We believe workout wear should be both sustainable and technical. Our active fabrics are sweat-wicking, quick-drying, and stretchy while also being gentler on the planet.
Organic cotton adds breathability to yoga tops and tees. Recycled nylon and spandex lend four-way stretch to leggings and shorts. And natural TencelTM lyocell provides silky softness in tanks and bras with light compression.
Like our main line, activewear is dyed using low-impact botanical colors from plants like indigo, madder, and turmeric. Garments are treated with antimicrobial and odor-resistant finishes made from natural citrus extracts and plant starches instead of harsh chemicals.
Beyond fabrics, we design versatile layers that move easily from studio to street. Mix and match cropped leggings, sports bras, and bike shorts with oversized sweaters and slides for a fresh take on athleisure style.
Our Sustainability Promises
As a sustainable brand, we hold ourselves to the highest standards through our partnership with the Sustainable Apparel Coalition. We proudly share the Higg Index environmental score for every product on our site.
Here are a few of the ways we aim to reduce our environmental footprint:
- We offset 100% of our emissions from order fulfillment and business operations by investing in renewable energy and reforestation programs.
- Our packaging is made with 100% post-consumer recycled materials and vegetable inks. We ship poly bags and cardboard boxes right-sized to each order to reduce waste.
- We implement water reduction methods at our production facilities and partner with initiatives providing clean water access in manufacturing communities.
- We eliminate single-use plastics across our supply chain while also using recycled fibers in our fabrics. Only reusable garment bags and recycled paper materials come in your orders.
- We pay living wages across our workshops and practice radical transparency through fair trade certifications and worker well-being audits.
There is always more work to be done. We are committed to continuous improvement as we work towards building a more conscious fashion industry.
